hi, i'm new to this so please bare with me.

i'm looking for a book i have no name or author for, i read the back cover and this is what i remember.

it was about a couple whose son had been murdered as a teenager. the person who did it was caught and is now due for execution. however, the mother of the victim, has a secret from her husband, she has not only forgiven the killer, but she has more of a friendship/relationship with him. as the execution looms, she can no longer keep the secret, and that's as far as i got.

the type of relationship with the killer is not told on the cover, so i'm unsure if she is pen pal, friend, prison visitor, or more.

the  book was a paperback, but a large size one, it possibly had a tree as part of the cover picture, or possibly in the title.

it cost new over £10.00 poss £11.99 cover price. i read this a bout 3 weeks ago.

any suggestions greatly appreciated, i know its a long shot though!!
